exploring the helene cave

On a recent trip to Helene I accompanied a group of very adventurous Paya Bay guests on an exploration of the island's famous cave. The jungle around the cave area has a mysterious, magical, "middle-earth" quality to it. Many of Helene's residents took refuge in this cave when Hurricane Mitch pummeled the island with category five winds for over 48 hours in 1998. This adventure will be offered as part of our new mystical weeks to be introduced in 2014!

I love it man!! I had a great time showing your guests around Helene. I hope that they enjoyed it as much as I did. I would recommend this trip to any Paya Bay guests that are interested. It will be a very memorable experience. Remember to bring a camera! The people of Helene are very friendly and the island has a very different feel than Roatan.
