the power of gratitude

We can never bring anything to us unless we are grateful for what we have. In fact, if somebody was completely and utterly grateful for everything, they would never have to ask for anything, because it would be given to them before they even asked.

That is the power of Gratitude.

"brochure" weather

The summer months of June through September are when we experience some of our nicest weather here in Roatan. My friend Lisa jokingly calls it "brochure" weather. The ever present sea breezes ensure that ambient temperatures rarely rise above a balmy 31 degrees Celsius (approximately 88 degress Fahrenheit). Here are photos of magnificent Bliss Beach in all its summer glory.

Awesome entertainment options are coming to Roatan as the the island's tourism-focused economy continues its steady growth.

healthiest reefs

Roatan has the healthiest reefs in the region encompassing Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Honduras. The organization Healthy Reefs International today presented at [the Honduras] Government House the latest report on the health of the Great Mesoamerican Reef. Ian Drysdale, Coordinator for Healthy Reef Honduras said that Honduras has to celebrate having the best reef health of the four countries. "Honduras has the highest biomass of herbivorous fish of the region, and Roatan qualified as the subregion with the highest quality of the Mesoamerican reef," he said.

the seaside trail is also back online!

After completing the Buccaneer repair project, the next area of focus has been the Seaside Trail, which runs from Secret Cove through Buccaneer Landing and all the way to the boat docks. This much improved version of the trail is both more level (less ups and downs) and noticeably wider. Guests who run/walk on our nature trails for exercise will be pleased with these improvements. Both Buccaneer Landing and the Seaside Trail were heavily damaged by a freakishly strong winter storm in January, 2014.

We're resilient in the face of adversity thanks largely to the support of our awesome, loyal clients. We are extremely grateful. Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Bay Islands of Honduras.

It remains one of the sweetest spots to enjoy a sunset in the nude on the island! Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Bay Islands of Honduras.
