In Memoriam

It's with heartfelt sadness that we communicate that Louise (a.k.a. "Lou-Lou,"  "440") passed yesterday. She was the inseparable adventure partner of her sister, Thelma, who survives her. Lou-Lou lived a wonderful life here at Paya the nine years she was with us. She  brought her own special energy to the mix and will be greatly missed by her humans.

Thelma's blissful Bliss Beach ritual

At least once, and sometimes twice (or more!) times a day, Thelma gets to do her little Bliss Beach ritual. A romp in the waves and a quick dip in the Caribbean Sea followed by a joyful upside down wiggle dance on the sand.

Good vibes, good times at the Black Iguana

Summers are when we have some of the best weather here in Roatan. Temperatures rarely rise above 85° Fahrenheit (29° Celsius) and the constant sea breezes keep things cool, comfortable, and the insects at bay. In these photos guests enjoy a balmy summer afternoon at the Black Iguana beach bar on Bliss Beach.

The girls always enjoy visits to this beautiful, exquisite spot on the property, the tidal pool near Fire Island.

There's little doubt which Paya Bay chillout station is the dogs' favorite. New puppy, Chestnut, had an especially fun time yesterday playing in the tidal pool as I spent quality time with two friends.
