This week Paya Bay is again hosting the medical mission from Calimesa, California. This morning I took these photos of people from the surrounding communities who come and receive free dental, vision, and general medical care from the American health professionals and their support crew. The dentists and doctors help many people during their hectic, four-day service schedule. Paya Bay proudly supports this kind and generous gift to the island community.
"I'm happy and grateful now that our amazing Paya Bay is the most beautiful, most blissful, most environmentally friendly, and most financially successful boutique resort in Central America."

thank you, calimesa!
The group of volunteer doctors, dentists, nurses, hygienists, and support staff from Calimesa, California are back once again this year with their beautiful mission of kindness. During their very busy week, they set up a field clinic in the lower floor of the beach house, and provide hundreds of less fortunate people of eastern Roatan communities with free medical and dental care. It is such a generous and beautiful gesture on the part of these outstanding Americans. Thank you, Calimesa!

norwegians are awesome!
Norway launches campaign to give Finland a mountain. A group of Norwegians has launched a campaign to shift their country's border by 200 metres to bring the peak of the Halti mountain into Finnish territory as a gift to their mountain-deprived neighbour for the 100th anniversary of its independence. Moving the border between Norway and Finland just 490ft (150m) to the north and 650ft (200m) to the east would bring Finland a new highest peak while losing Norway just 0.015 square kilometres. At 4,479ft (1,365m), Halti does not even make the list of Norway’s highest 200 peaks. But one of its lower spurs, Hálditšohkka, marks the highest point in Finland, at 4340ft (1,324m).- The Telegraph

calimesa medical mission
Returning for a fourth year, the Calimesa Medical Mission are once again, this week, offering four days of free medical, dental, and vision services to people in the local community. The group of American health care professionals use a portion of Paya Bay's "beach house" as a temporary medical facility. The care and kindness they bring to Roatanians is much appreciated.

so many opportunities to give
Giving opens up the door to receiving. You have so many opportunities to give every day.- lessons from The Secret
Give kind words. Give a smile. Give appreciation and love. Give compliments. You can give courtesy to other motorists while you are driving. You can give a smile to the car parking attendant. You can give a warm greeting to the newspaper stand person or the person who makes your coffee. You can give by allowing a stranger to go ahead of you into an elevator, and you can give by asking which floor they are going to and pressing the button for them. If someone drops something you can give a helping hand and pick it up for them. You can give warm embraces to those you love. And you can give appreciation and encouragement to everyone.
There are so many opportunities for you to give and thereby open the door to receiving.

from atlanta to roatan, with love
My good friend Michelle Groover of Atlanta, Georgia brought down dozens of book bags filled with school supplies to give to less fortunate local kids. This past Friday morning, we held a fun event here at Paya Bay to hand out the school supplies. We organized lively, competitive games like egg and "wheelbarrow" races for the kids. Over one hundred school-aged Roatan children received a backpack full of school supplies! What an awesome way to encourage kids to be excited about school!
As president of Members Auto Choice, Michelle (along with her husband, Dan Stryzinski) is actively involved with many charity organizations back in Georgia. This "From Atlanta With Love" event is Michelle and Dan's first formal outreach to the international community. She thinks it could become an annual event for them. Thank you so much, Ms. Groover! Love, love, love!

be generous with both
Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both, and you won't have to hunt for happiness.- William Gladstone

give the best of you
The fastest way to receive is to give, because giving starts the reciprocal action of receiving. We all receive according to how much we give. Give the best of you everywhere you go. Give a smile. Give thanks. Give kindness. Give love.- lessons from The Secret
Your giving should be a giving without expectation of return - a giving for the sheer joy of it.

ask for others as you ask for yourself
What is the most powerful thing you can add to the process of creating what you want? Ask for others as you ask for yourself. An easy way to do this is to ask for ALL, which of course includes you. Ask for a good life for all, peace for all, abundance for all, health for all, love for all, and happiness for all.- lessons from The Secret
When you ask for others, it comes back to you, so the law has it ALL covered.

ask for everyone
When you ask for happiness and a beautiful life, ask not just for you, but for everyone. When you ask for something better, ask not just for you, but for everyone. By all means ask for abundance and health for you, but also ask for it to be given to everyone.
Can you imagine what would happen if over six billion people asked for these things for you?
