new paya generation

During the recent Labor Day festivities held on Bliss Beach, a special guest posed with our two youngest team members. With their sweetness, good manners, and great attitudes, Erick (l) and Omar (r) bring much good energy to Team Paya. A server in the resort's restaurant, Erick has mastered the English language in only an amazing five months! Still of school age, Omar works part time as an assistant in the food service department during the week and attends school on weekends. Monies he earns help him cover his school expenses. These two exceptional young men had just returned from sea kayaking when this photo was taken. Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Bay Islands of Honduras.

nearly complete!

Master Builder Miguel Padilla and his assistant Francisco Corrado take a break from the nearly completed construction of the Bliss Beach restrooms. These two gentlemen do amazing work!

The new facilities are looking very rustic and indigenous, fitting in nicely with the jungly landscape around them. Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Honduras.

completing the trail

Paya Bay team member Cesar Villanueva (see first photo) has been leading the effort to complete the last section of the Paya Trail (the section that goes right to the tip of the Alligator Head rock formation). Beautiful work these guys are doing.

My wonderful brother, Thomas McNab, Paya's most excellent bartender and snorkel boat captain. Tom's mojito is the best on Roatan!

meet the paya staff: Winnie

Ms. Winnie is Paya Bay's chef.  We think her "secret ingredient" is the love and care she puts into making delicious food.

meet the paya staff: Evelyn

Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Honduras. In this clip I caught her returning from gathering fresh flowers for the tables in the restaurant. Evelyn has been learning to speak English (her native tongue is Spanish) since she started working at Paya. She's come a long way.

Bravo Miss Evelyn!
