MacBook Pro with macOS Mojave 10.14.5
After 5 years of near-perfect service, my old MacBook Pro died towards the end of last month. My sister Sharlene was coming to visit from Texas and picked me up a new one of these amazing machines from Apple. Very happy and grateful for my good fortune!
Happy New Year, everyone!

efaristó universo!
We are very fortunate. Tropical Storm Earl tracked a few crucial kilometers farther north of the Bay Islands even as it intensified into hurricane strength before making landfall in Belize. We were only affected by the outer bands of the storm. We are happy and grateful to report we experienced virtually no damage here at Paya Bay. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to our neighbors in Belize who had to absorb the brunt of this storm. I took these photos as I inspected the property early this morning (note that the shade curtains were proactively removed from the cabanas in Buccaneer Landing to prevent damage to them). *Efaristó is how one says thank you in Greek.

mykonos: our awesome villa
For our three-night stay in Mykonos, we rented a two-bedroom apartment in the upper left corner of Oceania, a multi-unit villa. From our second floor balcony we had a commanding view of the "New Port" area of the island and were within walking distance of town (1km). In the last photo, we pose with our gracious Greek hosts of this family-run business. The rate we paid was extremely reasonable for what we got in return (we learned that in Greece one should always ask for the "cash price," it's ALWAYS an option, and it is ALWAYS the best price!).

santorini: akrotiri and naturism
We spent the morning of our second day in Santorini having the biggest cultural event of our trip: a visit to the Akrotiri archaeological site. The city of Akrotiri was a its zenith in the 17th Century B.C.! That's 19,000 years ago. Nineteen thousand years ago! Yet the level of sophistication of their architecture, engineering, art, and pottery is absolutely astounding.
After this mind-boggling cultural experience, during which we met and made fast friends with some wonderful Norwegians, we took a boat to our own semi-private cove to enjoy some naturism in the Mediterranean sun and sea. Delicious!
