This morning, fresh island sunflowers were delivered for use in Paya's restaurant. Fresh flowers on the tables is one of many details that contribute to the Magic of Paya!

Parts of the property at Paya Bay are rugged rock formations. These rocky areas are home to several varieties of cacti that add a special kind of beauty with their interesting "civil engineering." The incredible variety of plant life is part of the Magic of Paya!

harvesting coconuts

We harvest coconuts from hundreds of palms on the property. These nuts are them processed into fresh, organic coconut oil for use in the resort's restaurant. It's part of the Magic of Paya!

new trends: forest bathing and nature therapy

According to the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (yes, “forest therapy” is actually a thing), forest therapy is a “research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments.” Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits associated with spending time in nature, from lowering cortisol concentrations and blood pressure to improving mood and cognition. Many doctors are even writing “nature prescriptions”, instructing patients to begin spending more time outdoors.
