We're blushing!

A recent guest gave us this glowing review on TripAdvisor! Thanks for sharing BlackForest01!

Paya Bay Truly is Paradise!

So much has already been written about this magical place, but it is absolutely a most wonderful and romantic place to visit. I am trying to cover a lot of questions we had. We enjoyed 6 full days at the resort and wished we could stay for more. We will definitely do our best to be back!! The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous with three beaches (one public), every one nicer than the other; it has many walking trails around the property with numerous hidden hideaway spots, cleverly designed lounging areas, and spots to just contemplate life and the power and beauty that totally surrounds you. We even experienced a 5.1 earthquake at no extra charge! If you’re a naturist (and this very much is a naturist-friendly place), you need only pack for the arrival and departure trip and have a simple wrap / coverup for the restaurant. Bring a pair of sandals for the trails – that is all you will need. We never left the resort during our stay; just enjoyed the relaxation and great service. The beaches are cleaned daily and truly are pristine. Bugs were rarely a problem for us during our stay (AVON Oh So Soft Bug Spray is great for the “no-see-ums”!!!) and the tropical breezes kept the mosquitoes away. With a limited number of rooms and the remote location, finding places to lounge was never an issue. There are lounge chairs and sun shades (many hand-made from palms) galore here. No worries about finding a great spot on any day. We went the last week of April / first week of May and the weather was fantastic. As it was after the high season (January – March), there were only 3 couples who stayed during the week plus some daytime Cruise Ship visitors – never crowded. This is a great time of the year to visit Paya Bay for the warm, sunny, and breezy days! Yes, we enjoy naturism – but if you are not a naturist don’t let that stop you from visiting this wonderful resort. Either stay during a non-naturist week, or if you can tolerate social nudity, then visit almost any time of the year when the weather is good. You may even leave the resort a new and dedicated naturist! Once you’ve indulged, you never want to be in a wet bathing suit again. This is a family friendly resort – this is a place where couples, singles, and families can go to safely enjoy a quiet, safe, and relaxed atmosphere soaking up the sun together, clothed or not, with no fear of being hit upon or judged -- it is not a swinging party-time resort. Be prepared to meet interesting people - we enjoyed chatting with a couple who were on their 9th visit to Paya Bay – and we see why. We saw some Cruise Ship families with kids who were just having a good time; again, some clothed and some perfectly comfortable not. We are so grateful to have discovered this unique gem! Just returned from my 7th visit to Paya Bay Resort. What can I say. This is the best place to relax and de-stress from the hectic world. From Davinci, Mrs. McNab, Marcey, and Michelle, and the rest of the staff they make you feel so welcome and no request is too big. The resort is beautiful with abundant trails to roam and lots of hidden spots to relax overlooking the sea. The beach is the best, private and serene and has a pool right on the water. You can snorkel right from the beach to the reefs or Captain Tom will take you out to the best spots around the reef twice a day. Most days I ordered lunch at the bar and they brought it down to the beach for me to enjoy. I always stay in one of the cliff side rooms which are on a cliff, right on the sea, To go to sleep and wake up with the sounds of the waves hitting the shore is pure bliss. Your own private balcony is also great to watch the fishing boats go bye and watch the sun rise and set. Meals served are the best with lots of options to choose from and they use local fruits and vegetables and fish which are always delicious. To me there is no other place to be other than Paya Bay Resort.

"My husband and I came to Naturist week on a Day Trip from our cruise. This was by far one of the best days of our lives. From Arnold picking us up and sharing local detail and interests along the trip to the resort. We were welcomed with wonderful fruit drinks and a view of the hummingbird s from the window of the lobby. The staff was incredibly nice and accomodating. We were given a room to use and change in, towels, beach chairs and a scrumptious lunch served on the beach! We enjoyed full sun all day! Walked the paths to the other zones and met some lovely people. The water was wonderful! Even the soap in the shower was special. This one day was better than our whole cruise! This place is like the Garden of Eden! We want to go back someday for at least a week! If you get the chance to go here then do it!"

client feedback: "we could have stayed here a week and been happy"

We had a day pass but it took everything we had to get back in the car to head back to the boat. We could have stayed here a week and been happy. This isn't luxury, but it is naturally beautiful. Perfect time for reflection. Soft sand with clear water. Or hike up to one of the private palapas on the cliff side to hear the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks. Lunch was perfect, drinks were outstanding. This is the place to escape from everyday stress. Where the mountains meet the sea and the sunshine meets the rain. I didn't take pictures out of respect for other guests and I had no desire to have anything electronic out. Just take everything in this place had to offer. A special thanks to Eric that took such great care of us all day! Give Chestnut a scratch behind the ears for us! One Love

Made it home to Detroit last night. I just want to say Thank You for such a relaxing vacation that I had at Paya Bay again this year. You and your staff are the best. The resort just gets better every year, and for me there is no place I would rather be. For me it is just a slice of Paradise in this unsettling world, and your motto stands true, Feel Good Be Happy.

unique tropical experience

Dear Davinci,
Paradise ended when we left Paya Bay Resort. Paul and I talked about how different Paya Bay is from the other resorts. Even staying at Infinity Bay [West Bay, Roatan] where they have all the amenities, this resort doesn’t even come close to the unique tropical experience Paya Bay offers to its guests. Thank you for everything you have done. As long time guests, Paul and I truly appreciate your hard work and creativity. Keep up the good vibes as well as your always cheerful spirit. It certainly is contagious!!!
Warmest Regards,
Noemi and Paul
Special guests Noemi and Paul have been repeat clients of our family business since circa 1995. They sent me this note after their most recent stay with us. Their current visit to Roatan is concluding with a three-day stint in West Bay, where Paul will be attending a business conference being held at one of the big resorts on the other, more developed end of the island. It's so nice to get these warm, sincere, unsolicited "pats on the back" from people who have supported my family's enterprise since the very beginning. I'm so grateful for your solidarity, my friends. Namaste.

nature

This isn't a hotel that has nature; it's incredible nature that happens to have a hotel.
