launch of the Kiton

This morning Dad launched Kiton, Paya Bay's new 45-foot pleasure boat. She's a beauty!

RHU Kiton, immediately after she floated. Strong attitude, eh? She's like, "Look at me!"

pigeon cay excursion (friday, april 9)

My schedule doesn't allow me to go on all the Pigeon Cay trips (I'm realizing, however, that my "hosting" is something guests miss out on when I don't go.) This was an extra special trip as my friend Michelle was visiting from Atlanta, and my friends John and Stacy were visiting from Los Angeles.

The cay in all its glory. Truly one of those 'heaven on earth' places.

The Kiton floats gracefully in the beautiful, multi-hued water that surrounds the cay. The island of Barbaretta can be seen in the background.

Special guests Monica and Michelle chat in the shallow water on the east end of the cay.

Special guests Eric, Dakota, John, and Stacy go snorkeling. Most have opted to snorkel au naturel.

John and Stacy enjoy the freedom of naturism. Beautiful Barbaretta is in the background.

Pigeon Cay is the definition of a tropical paradise!

"hurricane" atlanta (cont)

Next, the Birthday Group took off for an overnight trip to Pigeon Cay!

Everyone boards the Kiton at Paya Bay's dock...

... and there's lots of excitement in the air about the adventure ahead. There was also perhaps a bit of apprehension regarding the overnight aspect of this trip (no one knew what quite to expect with this wild idea of spending the night on a small uninhabited Caribbean cay).

After arriving at the cay, "sleeping camp" was set up under the trees on the breezy eastern end...

... and a "beach bar" set up about mid-cay.

A beautiful afternoon of snorkeling and exploring slowly turned into a beautiful sunset. The feeling of having this beautiful little cay all to yourself is hard to describe.

When darkness falls, things really ramp up. A roaring bonfire lights a beach party that runs late into the night!

Good times, good times! Love, love, love!

(to be continued...)

cruise & booze

Seems like Dad is getting into the "Feel Good, Be Happy" spirit at Paya Bay. His new slogan on the Kiton caught me a little by surprise, but I'm loving it!

dad

My father drives the Kiton as it returns from Pigeon Cay.

Mentally and physically abused by an alcoholic mother who was abandoned by her husband, my father lives his life behind the barriers and defense mechanisms he built in his psyche to protect his 'inner child.'  This beaten dog syndrome has resulted in a tormented and tumultuous relationship between us (and that's putting it lightly). Yet, I know deep down he's a really good man.

I love you, Dad. My intention is for us to have an ever improving relationship.
