when you withdraw
When you withdraw from me, I'll withdraw from you-Menachem Tabanpour
I'll distance myself from me so you will never know how I feel
I'll suffer and feel lonely
I'll blame you for not meeting my needs
I'll be secretly angry at you
When you withdraw from me
I'll remember all the times you have hurt me in the past
I'll wonder if anything will ever work between us
I'll mistrust what you say and judge what you do
I'll doubt ever wanting to be with you
When you withdraw from me I don't know what to do
I want to keep my love
I want to be close to myself and to you
I want to feel compassion
But, I just don't know what to do
When you withdraw from me, I'll withdraw from you
Menachem (pronounced Meh-nah-hem) is an amazing young man I've met here at Esalen. What bright light shines from this angel! I aspire to be like Menachem as I become more and more Truly Alive!

the baths at esalen
Fed by natural hot springs that come directly out of the mountainside, the clothing-optional spa facility at Esalen is anchored in the cliffside right above the Pacific Ocean. People come from all over the world to enjoy the heavenly hot tubs in this architectural masterpiece.

memories of esalen and big sur
I'm now back in Honduras after a splendid vacation at Esalen in Big Sur, California. Here are a few more photos from my extraordinary experience there.
The main lodge at Esalen.
A view from the main deck area. Note the spa facilities on the left side of the photo.
A monument to women's liberation in one of the vegetable gardens.
Work scholars assist in the garden. A large portion of the vegetables served in Esalen's dining room are grown in on-property gardens.
A gurgling creek runs through the property. A hike along its banks was one of my favorite things to do at Esalen.

on vacay: esalen
My adventure this week is primarily unfolding at Esalen in Big Sur, California. I'm a first-timer, but I've quickly discovered that Esalen is one of those magical places that are few and far between. I am very happy and grateful for my good fortune to have the opportunity to spend time at a place like this.
Esalen's hot springs baths are right above the Pacific Ocean. Surreal beauty! Wow! This area of the property is clothing-optional which makes it that much more heavenly.
