After one of the delicious gourmet breakfasts Al and Sandra usually prepared every morning, on our third day in Santorini we joined a catamaran cruise into the largely submerged caldera of the island's long ago exploded volcano. Awesome experience!
Next stop: The party island of Mykonos!
"I'm happy and grateful now that our amazing Paya Bay is the most beautiful, most blissful, most environmentally friendly, and most financially successful boutique resort in Central America."

santorini: akrotiri and naturism
We spent the morning of our second day in Santorini having the biggest cultural event of our trip: a visit to the Akrotiri archaeological site. The city of Akrotiri was a its zenith in the 17th Century B.C.! That's 19,000 years ago. Nineteen thousand years ago! Yet the level of sophistication of their architecture, engineering, art, and pottery is absolutely astounding.
After this mind-boggling cultural experience, during which we met and made fast friends with some wonderful Norwegians, we took a boat to our own semi-private cove to enjoy some naturism in the Mediterranean sun and sea. Delicious!

santorini: a stunning welcome
World-famous for its beauty, the Island of Santorini did not disappoint! The sunset experience on our first day on this dramatic, volcanic island was beautiful beyond words!
The town of Fira sits on the edge of the volcanic caldera, 300 meters above the Mediterranean's Aegean Sea.
