sacred space

Yesterday, our master builder, Miguel Padilla, and his construction team completed the roof on Paya's yoga pavilion. (Note that some scaffolding is still in place).

The word sacred is one I find appropriate for this extraordinary space. The energy you feel when you are there is beyond description. I spent some time with Miguel late this afternoon admiring the accomplishment. He said something very interesting: "One of the reasons this place is special is because I built it with love. You and your family are very kind to me, and this is one way I could express my gratitude for that."

yoga pavilion update

The yoga pavilion's roof armature is now complete. Tomorrow the construction team will start adding the roofing. (Note that some supportive scaffolding is still in place. Once it is removed, the entire 1,200 square feet of floor space will be unobstructed.)

nestled in the trees

Paya Bay's new yoga pavilion takes form in its privileged location amidst the tropical trees and vegetation on one of the property's highest points.

Miguel and his team worked very hard last week to get the roof rafters in place on the new yoga pavilion. Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Honduras.

scaffolding

To facilitate work on the roof of the new yoga pavilion, Miguel and his team have erected a complex scaffolding that, in itself, has intrinsic artistic value. Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Honduras.

just splendid

The floor of the new yoga pavilion is starting to take form. Paya Bay Resort, Roatan, Honduras.

Upon completion, this could very well be one of the most splendid yoga facilities in all Central America.

Taking in the amazing view and feeling all proud of my team's accomplishment.

paya bay 3.0: the yoga pavilion

Paya Bay is moving boldly into the future! We are in the process of adding key facilities that will greatly contribute to our goal of making Paya an even more heavenly resort. I'm referring to this latest series of improvements as Paya Bay 3.0. One of these new facilities is a 1,200 square foot covered yoga pavilion!

A new trail leads through the jungle to the perfect location on one of the highest points on the property.

A view of the varied and interesting natural flora along the trail.

The thick, solid posts on which the platform and its roof will be constructed are being secured with concrete foundations in the rocky terrain.

Lucky and Foxy assist me in inspecting the work. They seemed impressed. :)

A gorgeous sunset accents the incredible view that will be the focal point of the pavilion.
