What's New in 2023
Happy New Year! Here at Paya Bay we're starting this new year with some newly completed maintenance projects and a very significant one that we've started working on just recently...
New roof on the restaurant...
New roof on the Beach House...
New wooden deck adjoining the main deck...
New bamboo security rails along the Zen Path...
And the very significant current project: we've started upgrading the baths in our rooms...

Seawall to battle erosion
Adam, our new neighbor on the East side of the "Big Beach," is constructing a seawall at the base of the cliff with the goal stopping or minimizing the erosion of red mud into the bay. Over time this should result in a much clearer waters in this area, improving and enhancing its natural beauty. Adam has also done a major project to divert a gully that brought red mud into the bay during the rainy season.

Andddd.... We're back!
My late September personal participation in the Global Climate Strike ran into our annual October closing for maintenance and vacations. During these past several weeks we've been able to get many maintenance projects completed...

new sun shade curtains at Ananda
Yesterday we installed new sun shade curtains in the Ananda Yoga Pavilion to lessen the heat impact of the sun in the afternoon hours when the rays are most intense (usually between 3pm and 4:30pm).
