Maintaining the trails

This past week our grounds team has been working on maintaining our network of nature trails. There are over 1.5 km of amazing paths and trails to explore at Paya Bay! The nature is so uniquely beautiful, guests have said it's like walking inside a beautiful painting...

Andddd.... We're back!

My late September personal participation in the Global Climate Strike ran into our annual October closing for maintenance and vacations. During these past several weeks we've been able to get many maintenance projects completed...

Work has been completed on the Buccaneer Landing bridge. It is higher above sea level and as good as new. A great spot for an afternoon swim in the lagoon.

As part of ongoing resort maintenance we are currently rebuilding the little bridge in Buccaneer Landing.

We are currently adding new roofing to the Ananda Yoga Pavilion, as part of the ongoing maitenance of the resort.

bamboo maintenance

This week, as part of our ongoing maintenance program at the resort, we replaced the bamboo rails on the Zen Path. In addition to safety, the rails add natural beauty to the trail.

resurfacing the trails

After what has been a record-breaking rainy season this winter, many of our trails have been subject to significant erosion. Cesar, Gerson and Josue have been adding a layer of pulverized blue limestone rock to smoothen the trails and make them more enjoyable to walk on.

We've recently put a lot of energy into the hamaca station at Secret Cove. The palapa was re-thatched, a rustic stone floor was added, and new hammocks were installed. This special spot remains one of the best places on the property to enjoy a sunset.

buccaneer is back!

It took a lot of time and hard work, but we're happy to announce that Buccaneer Landing is now completely repaired and back online!
