morning walk to the labyrinth

Thelma and Louise accompanied me on a walk to Paya Bay's mystical meditational Cuyana labyrinth this morning. It's the beginning of the dry season and many tropical trees shed leaves this time of year.

building the labyrinth

Last week we completed the platform for Paya's new meditational labyrinth, and yesterday (with the kind assistance of Susie Leiper) we completed the marking of the concentric circles that form the design. With this new meditational feature, Paya Bay continues to consolidate itself as a world-class wellness center.

Labyrinths have been in human culture for some 3000 years, maybe longer. "Modern mystics use labyrinths to help them achieve a contemplative state. Walking among the turnings, one loses track of direction and of the outside world, and thus quiets the mind."

We are currently building our very own meditational labyrinth at Paya Bay, in a beautiful space carved out of the rocky terrain and tropical jungle...

crete roadtrip: rethymno

Rethymno, the first stop on our Cretan roadtrip, is renown for its labyrinth-like old town and the Venetian 'fortezza' that protected it back in ancient times.

Taking my family's resort to the next level and beyond.
