We've recently put a lot of energy into the hamaca station at Secret Cove. The palapa was re-thatched, a rustic stone floor was added, and new hammocks were installed. This special spot remains one of the best places on the property to enjoy a sunset.

the seaside trail is also back online!

After completing the Buccaneer repair project, the next area of focus has been the Seaside Trail, which runs from Secret Cove through Buccaneer Landing and all the way to the boat docks. This much improved version of the trail is both more level (less ups and downs) and noticeably wider. Guests who run/walk on our nature trails for exercise will be pleased with these improvements. Both Buccaneer Landing and the Seaside Trail were heavily damaged by a freakishly strong winter storm in January, 2014.

My friend Layle dropped in for a visit this afternoon with her friend Sergio. Brooke and Fernando joined us for a walk to Secret Cove to enjoy what turned out to be an exceptionally beautiful sunset.

I took a relaxing walk with my dogs Thelma and Louise on the Paya Trail the other day. The photos below are from the section of the trail near Secret Cove.

a classic

This classic Paya Bay photo was taken just a while ago from the main deck. For several days in August of every year the sun sets at this picturesque spot right above the dip in the "Alligator Nose" rock formation. The alignment and symmetry that mark this annual event remind me of the interconnectedness of everything in our Universe. The chillout station located on this rocky point (note the palapa on the right) is a spectacular spot for a couple to experience a tropical sunset, perhaps enhanced with a bottle of their favorite type of wine, and even in the nude, if they wish.

The 22-acre peninsula on which Paya Bay sits is a rare and unique combination of rugged rock formations, splendid half-moon beaches, lush ridges, and quiet coves.
