Today the Honduran Congress had discussions about moving the scheduled November General Elections forward as a way to resolve the political crisis.
The vice-president of Congress said the date change is a decision that corresponds to the National Congress, after consultation with the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, political parties, and the Ministry of Finance, which is providing the resources for financing the elections.
The elections are scheduled for November 29, 2009. It is being proposed they be conducted in October according to the initiatives.
