OAS suspends Honduras

Claiming that Honduras's previous resignation from the Organization of American States was not binding since it was made by an "unrecognized" government, the 33 representatives from an equal number of countries voted in favor of the resolution that suspends Honduras from the body.

Fine, bitches. We Hondurans prefer six months* of pressure to twenty years of repression.

*Manuel Zelaya's administration was scheduled to end on January 27, 2010. Interim President Roberto Micheletti has vowed that the General Elections scheduled for November 29, 2009 will proceed as planned and that he will hand over the government to the winner on January 27th. In fact, President Micheletti has stated that he would even hold the elections earlier if that is determined to be in the best interest of the country. Note that Micheletti is not (and cannot be) a candidate in the November elections as he has been invested with the title of President of the Republic, and is, therefore, constitutionally barred from running.
