President Roberto Micheletti revoked a decree that for more than a week limited civil rights in Honduras. The decree had been issued as a result of Manuel Zelaya calling for insurrection from the Brazilian embassy where he remains incarcerated.
"Today the Cabinet revoked the decree, which takes effect on Tuesday," Micheletti said the Channel 5 local television.
Micheletti said he made the "decision to cancel it completely," because the country is "returning to peace" and because of the international community's reaction against the measure.
"This decree is no longer necessary because we have peace in the country," he said.
